About the DAF:
The German Labour Front (German: Deutsche Arbeitsfront, DAF) was the official labor organization created by the Nazi Party in 1933, shortly after Adolf Hitler came to power. As part of the Nazi policy of Gleichschaltung (Nazification), the German Labour Front replaced all independent trade unions in Germany, removing workers’ rights to free association and collective bargaining. Unlike traditional labor unions, the DAF was not intended to protect employees but to control and mobilize the workforce to serve the economic and political objectives of the Nazi regime. The organization played a central role in reshaping German labor, enforcing Nazi ideology, and integrating workers into state-controlled programs designed to increase productivity and loyalty.
