About the 25 Reserve Korps:

The XXVI Reserve Corps was formed in October 1914 as part of Germany’s early mobilization during World War I. It belonged to the first wave of newly created corps, which included XXII to XXVII Reserve Corps and the 43rd to 54th Reserve Divisions, along with the 6th Bavarian Reserve Division.

The corps consisted mainly of kriegsfreiwillige (wartime volunteers) who joined voluntarily without waiting for conscription.

By the end of the war, the XXVI Reserve Corps remained active. It served under the 18th Army of Heeresgruppe Deutscher Kronprinz on the Western Front, participating in Germany’s final military operations.
