About the NSRL
The National Socialist League of the Reich for Physical Exercise (German: Nationalsozialistischer Reichsbund für Leibesübungen, NSRL) was the umbrella organization for sports and physical education in Nazi Germany. Before 1938, it was known as the German League of the Reich for Physical Exercise (Deutscher Reichsbund für Leibesübungen, DRL).
Following the annexation of Austria in 1938, the NSRL expanded its influence to include Austrian sports organizations, promoting Nazi ideology through physical training, athletic competitions, and organized youth programs. The NSRL played a central role in shaping sports culture and physical education in Germany during the Third Reich.
