About the medal:
The Police Long Service Award (Polizei-Dienstauszeichnung) recognized long-serving members of the German police during the Nazi era. Professor Richard Klein designed the award series. The government issued several classes based on years of service.
The 1st Class recognized 25 years of service. It consisted of a gold-colored cross measuring approximately 43 mm in height and 43 mm in width. A 50 mm cornflower blue ribbon suspended the award.
The obverse displayed a national eagle design. The reverse featured the numeral “25” at the center. The inscription “Für treue Dienste in der Polizei” (“For Faithful Service in the Police”) surrounded the number.
Today, collectors and historians view the award as a historical artifact. It reflects the importance that authorities placed on loyalty, discipline, and long-term police service during the period in which it was issued.
