Nice and in good condition Taschen Atlas – Kraft durch Freude.
This original 1930s pocket-sized atlas was produced by “Kraft durch Freude” (Strength Through Joy), a state-run organization within the German Labor Front, which operated under the NSDAP. The atlas features detailed maps of regions across Germany, as well as selected areas of Europe, making it both a practical and historical item from the period.
About the DAF:
The German Labour Front (German: Deutsche Arbeitsfront, DAF) served as the official labor organization of the Nazi Party. The Nazis established it in 1933, shortly after Adolf Hitler rose to power.
As part of the Gleichschaltung (Nazification) policy, the DAF replaced all independent trade unions in Germany. This move eliminated workers’ rights to free association and collective bargaining.
Unlike traditional labor unions, the DAF did not protect workers. Instead, it controlled and mobilized the workforce to support the Nazi regime’s economic and political goals.
The organization played a key role in reshaping German labor. It enforced Nazi ideology and integrated workers into state-run programs that aimed to boost productivity and loyalty.
