This WWII German WHW Simnau Westpreußen plastic badge set includes three openwork badges showing ancient archaeological motifs. The National Socialist People’s Welfare (NSV) ran the Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes (WHW) as an annual fundraising campaign. Founded in 1933, the WHW funded many NSV activities. It grew into the second largest mass organization in Nazi Germany. Official policy called donations voluntary. However, German citizens faced intense social pressure to contribute. Street collectors gave small badges like these tags to donors as receipts.

Militaria & Day Badge Collectibles
Street level charity drives produced millions of small pins and badges featuring historical and archaeological themes. This WWII German WHW Simnau Westpreußen set reproduces an Alamannic sun wheel artifact from West Prussia dated to around 600 AD. Each piece features detailed molded plastic cutouts with radial swastika details. Two pieces still retain their original hanging strings. Collectors value these original plastic badges for their distinct historic design and clear reverse text.
