About the item:

Nice 8 year police service medal that unfortunatly has the ring broken off (but still with the medal). Overall in a nice condition.

About the medal:

The Police Long Service Award (German: Polizei-Dienstauszeichnung) was a service medal in Nazi Germany, created to honor loyal and long-serving members of the German police. Designed by Professor Richard Klein, the awards varied in style depending on the recipient’s years of service.

The third class silver medal, awarded for eight years of service, measured 38mm and was suspended from a 35mm cornflower blue ribbon. The obverse featured the German police insignia, while the reverse displayed the number “8” encircled by the raised inscription Für treue Dienste in der Polizei (“For Faithful Service in the Police”). This award highlighted the regime’s emphasis on loyalty, discipline, and dedication within the police force.
