About the Hitler Youth:
The Hitler Youth (German: Hitlerjugend, HJ) was the official youth organization of the Nazi Party, established in 1922. In July 1926, it was officially named Hitler-Jugend, Bund deutscher Arbeiterjugend (Hitler Youth, League of German Worker Youth). From 1936 to 1945, the Hitler Youth was the only official boys’ youth group in Nazi Germany, although the League of German Girls (BDM) served as its female branch.
The organization included two main divisions: the Hitler Youth for boys aged 14 to 18, and the German Youngsters in the Hitler Youth (Deutsches Jungvolk in der Hitler Jugend, DJ/DJV) for boys aged 10 to 13. The program had paramilitary aspects and emphasized Nazi ideology, physical training, and loyalty to Hitler, playing a central role in shaping German youth under the Third Reich.
