This authentic WWII German Army Officer’s visor cap wreath and cockade is in excellent condition. Visor caps were a standard part of the Wehrmacht (German Armed Forces) uniform during the Third Reich period (1933–1945), with insignia and design variations depending on military rank.
Originally, these visor caps featured the Weimar Reichswehr-era oak-leaf wreath and cockade (1919–1933). However, changes were introduced as the Nazi regime consolidated power:

March 14, 1933: The oval black, red, and gold cockade of the Reichswehr was replaced with a circular cockade in black, white, and red.

February 17, 1934: The new Third Reich pattern national eagle for the Army was officially introduced.

March 1935: A more detailed wreath and cockade design, along with a larger pattern national eagle, were implemented and remained in use until the end of World War II.
