About the Hitler Youth:
The Hitler Youth (German: Hitlerjugend, commonly abbreviated as HJ) was the youth organisation of the German Nazi Party. It was established in 1922 and was named Hitler-Jugend, Bund deutscher Arbeiterjugend (“Hitler Youth, League of German Worker Youth”) in July 1926. Between 1936 and 1945, it was the only official boys’ youth group in Germany (although the League of German Girls was a branch of it) and had some paramilitary aspects. It consisted of the Hitler Youth itself for boys aged 14 to 18, and the German Youngsters in the Hitler Youth (Deutsches Jungvolk in der Hitler Jugend or “DJ”, also “DJV”) for younger boys aged 10 to 13.
